An old saying from the Hindi cinema “Sirf Naam Hi Kafi Hai” that is truly stands for CDS Gen. Bipin Rawat. A Four-Star General in Indian Military Officer Further Promoted as a First Chief of Defense Staff.Honored with Param Vishisht Sewa Medal and a Code Name “Bira”inside 11 Gorkha Riffles. Face of extreme bravery, Substitute name of fear for enemies. His Roar was enough to give goosebumps to the opponents. He was a Pahadi Rajput and a strong believer of Hinduism.

With a Strong and masculine body, he was 5 feet and 8 Inches. His brown eyes and grey hairs made him in a handsome army personal.

CDS General Bipin Rawat personal Information –

CDS Gen. Bipin Rawat was born on 16th March 1958 in Pauri, Dist. Paurigarhwal, Uttar Pradesh, India now in Uttarakhand. FatherLaxman Singh Rawatwas from sainj in Dist. Pauri Garhwaland a ranked Lieutenant General in Indian Military 11 Gorkha Rifles and her mother was the daughter of Ex-MLA Kishan Singh Parmar from Uttarkashi. CDS Rawat and MadhulikaRaje Singh both were married in 1986 and that lucky couple was blessed With two lovely daughters named Krithika and Tarini.

CDS General Bipin Rawat Educational and Professional Background –

During his childhood days CDS Rawat first he went to Camrbian Hall school in Dehradun and after did his rest education from St. Edward School In Shimla. After completion of secondary education he joined the national defense academy, Khadakwasla and Indian Military academy, Dehradun from there He graduated first in order of merit and also awarded with “sword of Honor”.
CDS Rawat’s deep interest in studies and fast learning abilities didn’t make him stop till graduation from NDS and IMA. In 1977 He further attended Defense service staff college, wellington for graduation and United states army command and general staff of college, Fort Leavenworth, Kansas, USA for higher command Studies.

Along with his graduation from Defense service staff college, wellington an MPhil Degree in Defence Studies as well as diploma in Management and Computer Studies from the University of Madras in 2011 was done.Research on military-media strategic studies also has been done by him for he was awarded Honorary Doctorate by CCS University, Meerut.

After His Graduation From NDS, Dehradun and IMA, Dehradun on 16 December 1978 he was Commissionedas second Lieutenant in 5th Battalion of 11 Gorkha Riffles, the same unit where his father was Commissioned. In1987 a standoff was taken by military along with McMahan line after the war of 1962 with China. CDS Rawat’s battalion was posted against the Chinese Liberation army being a captain on that time.

CDS Rawat spent over ten years of his service conducting counter insurgency operation and obtained the experience of high-altitude war skills. Further with his promotion as a colonel and later as a Brigadier, he commanded 5 Sector of Rastriya Riffles in Sopore district, Jammu and Kashmir.

CDS Rawat was awarded twice with Force Commander’s Commendation while working on UN mission in Congo.

After promotion as a lieutenant General, he commanded III corps, headquarter Dimapur. On September 1, 2016, he obtained a post of “Vice Chief of Army Staff”. On December 17, 2016 he took charge from Gen.Dilbag Singh Suhag and appointed 27th “Chief of Army Staff” by Government of India. Though His appointment was politically controversial as he obtained the post superseding two seniors Lieutenant General Parveen Bakshi and P.M.Hariz.

During his tenure as a Chief of army Staff he gave 14 visits of Bilateral Talks in different countries like Nepal, Bangladesh, Bhutan, Myanmar, Kazakhstan, Turkmenistan(In 2017), Nepal, Sri Lanka, Russia, Vietnam, Tanzania, Kenya (In 2018), United States and Maldives (In 2019).

In January 2020 Government of India Appointed Gen. Rawat as a Chief of Défense Staff. With a such historical Decision by Government of India, India Got his First CDS. Being a CDS he worked on two front war theory at the same time, Promoted and Applied Make in India Project in army weapon deals. Getting 36 raffle jet from France is his biggest achievements.

On 8 December on the route of Sulur in his India air force helicopter Mi-17, we lost our most loveable CDS Bipin Laxman Singh Rawat and his wife MadhulikaRaje Singh along with 14 army officials. Many CDS will Come and Go but his replacement is not possible. He was the Kohinoor of India’s Crown.

CDS General Bipin Rawat’s Wife-

MadhulikaRaje Singh, A decendant of Royal Family, She was the daughter of Kunwar Mrigendra singh, a Riyasatdar of SohagpurRiyasat in shahdol District, Madhya Pradesh. He was also an MLA from India National Congress in between 1967 from the same district. Her Basic Education was done in Scindia Kanya Vidyalaya in Gwalior, Madhya Pradesh, and her Graduation in Psychology from Delhi University.

CDS General Rawat’s Hobbies and Interest –

It is not possible as an army person, one can’t have interest. He was a fond of Playing Football and reading.

CDS General Rawat’s Controversies-

Since childhood we all are listening sun rises from the east and sets in the west. As every person has his best side so he/she also has his negative sides as well. Same with CDS Rawat, as far as his career is concerned it was full of adventures and achievements, but some controversies are also there.

In 2017 CDS Rawat’s Comment against the stone pelters in Kashmir gave the boom to the TRP of news channels. In 2018 his statement on disability was a sparkle where he warned soldiers not to falsely declared them self as disabled. And, in 2019 one of his statements considered related to anti citizenship amendment bill.
