Water is necessary to survive for a human. Doctor suggests consuming large amount of pure water to stay away from many severe dieses.  With the increasing pollutions rate in these days it is almost impossible to get pure drinking water. Water purification before drinking is crucial for the healthy life of human being.

Many people believe that boiling water can remove impurities from the raw water. But just boiling is capable of removing all the impurities from the feed water so there is need of RO water purifier service in every house and office.

Many service providers are available in market which provides water purification services like installing RO water purifiers, repairing of water purification system, purchasing or replacement of RO Spare Parts.

Basic Components of RO water purification system:

Reverse osmosis (RO) is one of the most trusted water treatment method used by residential as well as commercial areas for the water purification. RO system can remove more than 99% organic and inorganic contaminants from the raw water.

All the RO water purifiers typically consist of the same components. Working of all the RO systems are same only the difference is in the quality of membranes and filters used by customers. Here are the some basic RO spare parts and their functions.

  • SOV (shut off valve):

If the storage tank is full this value automatically stop the feed water flow to the purification system. It also pushes the drinking water through the RO membrane in case of water is drawn from the faucet or the decrease in the tank pressure.

  • Pre filter:

This is the first step in reverse osmosis water purification process. The raw water is passing through the pre filter.

If the source water is contains the high level of heavy metals and extreme level of impurities then it is necessary to have a pre filter to your RO system as it improves the life span of the RO membrane an reduces the RO Water Purifier Spare Parts Price.

It removes the salt, dirt and other contaminants from the system. It prevents the RO system from getting blocked.

  • RO membrane:

This is the key part of the RO system. After the pre filtration the raw water is push towards the RO membranes under the osmotic pressure.

There are different membrane elements depending upon different water sources. Depending upon the requirement of water, user can select the membrane elements and layers of membranes.

The available membranes are:

  1. Brackish water and tap water reverse osmosis (RO) membrane element (2.5’, 4’, 8’’)
  2. Sea water reverse osmosis (RO) membrane elements (2.5’’, 4’’, 8’’ )
  3. Nano filtration membrane elements (2.5’’, 4’’, 8’’)
  4. Ultra filtration membrane elements (2.5’’, 4’’, 8’’)

User can select the size of membrane elements according to need. Generally large size membrane elements are required by the commercial and industrial purposes.

Most of the RO companies suggest the RO pre treatment to protect the RO system from mechanical and chemical damages. The pre treatment solutions are as follows:

  1. Use of multimedia filter (MMF) it is having layers of anthracite coal, sand and garnet layer removes the largest dust particles and provides longer run time for main RO filter. It protects the RO system from fouling.
  2. Micro filtration it removes the colloidal contaminants of sizes 0.1-10 µm. Users who is having high TDS in their feed water should use this pre treatment for excellent performance of the RO system.
  3. Use of antiscalants and scale inhibitors. These chemicals are added to raw water before water treatments it increases the solubility limits of some inorganic compounds. It provides better recovery rate of RO system. User can select the antiscalants according to type of the source water.
  4. Post filter: After the second step the processes water is passed through the final filter which is known as post filter. Typically carbon filter is used in the post filtration step.

Before passing the water from the storage tank to RO faucet it removes the remaining contaminants from it and improves the taste of water by removing the bad odor from the drinking water.

  • RO faucet:

Non air gap RO water purifier models are having built in RO faucet with it. Customers are often confused between air gap faucet and non air gap faucet.

Classically the RO water purification system comes with air gap faucet but some of RO Water Purifier Spare Parts service providers also offer the no air gap faucet.

Other Spare parts of RO water purification system:

  • Water storage tank:

It stores the pure water after the water treatment. Generally water storage tank can store 6 to 15 litres of water. Before purchasing water purifier user need to make proper analysis of water usage and select the water purifier according to usage need.

In some RO system user can remove can clean the storage tank too but some are comes with attached storage container.

Sometimes the RO system can get damage if not get enough feed water hence in most of the industrial and commercial RO system large storage tank is needed to store the raw water for water purification system.

  • UV Lamp:

UV lamp provides the ultra violet disinfection treatment to water and offers the safe and healthy drinking water to its users. UV- C rays penetrate through the body of micro organisms and kill them.

Types of UV lamps found in market are:

  1. Low pressure standard UV lamps
  2. HO lamp or low pressure high output UV lamp
  3. Amalgam UV lamps

These lamps are also used in waste water treatment plant of industries.

  • Drain line:

It is situated at the outlet end of RO membrane. It is used to drain the water which is having the impurities and organic or inorganic contaminants. In short the rejected water from the system is discarded from the drain line. If more water is rejected from the drain line then your feed water might contain large amount of impurities.

  • Check valve:

It is positioned at the outlet end of RO membrane near the drain line. It is used to restrict the back flow of water from the storage tank. It also saves the RO membrane from getting rupturing.

  • Flow restrictor:

Flow restrictor controls the rate and achieves the highly quality of drinking water from the water purifier. Average ratio pure water and rejected water of RO system is 1:3~5.

It is situated inside the RO drain line tubing. It protects the RO membrane from getting the damage from the toxic elements and pushes it to the drain line.

  • Feed water pump:

It is required for the RO system users which are having low pressure of source water. This pumps the feed raw water into storage tank and increase the performance of the RO system.

For any kind of problem in the RO water purification system, customer can contact the nearby RO Repair services providers. Almost all the brands are having free customer services centers in major cities of India. Some water purifier companies are also provides the toll free customer service number to the users so that they can solve the issues and get quick service for their problem.
