SSC CGL Tier 1 Answer Key: Steps To Challenge Answer Key

The Tier 1 SSC CGL answer key 2022 is supposed to be available by the SSC CGL board within 15 days after the Tier 1 exam is over. The exam has taken place from 11 April to 21 April 2022. Candidates who appeared for this exam can check the response sheet of their respective exams.

The tentative answer key of SSC CGL for each tier has already been available so that candidates can calculate the respective scores that they could obtain in the written exam. 

The candidates can also raise flags or challenges within the given time if they are not happy with the answer in the answer keys. They must present the challenge on the official website of the SSC in the given manner. The candidate will also need to pay Rupees 100 per challenging question in the tentative answer key. 

After the time is over, the board will release the final version of the SSC CGL answer key, which cannot be changed further. The final score of each candidate will be calculated depending on the final version of the answer keys.

Step by step guide on how to raise a challenge in SSC CGL Tier 1 exam answer key:

Step 1: The candidate must log in to the official SSC CGL website– SSC.nic.in

Step 2: After entering the website, the candidate can find the answer keys available on the homepage. The candidate will have to click on the answer keys.

Step 3: The system will ask the candidate to enterthe user ID and password set during registration. Once the credentials are entered, click on ‘Login.’

Step 4: If the candidate is unsatisfied with any answer key, challenge the respective answer given in the portal by clicking ‘challenge.’

Step 5: In the end, the candidate must pay a fee of INR 100 online. All the reputed cards, banks, and UPI are eligible to make the payment.

What to do after challenging the answer keys?

The SSC board will check all the requests from the candidates regarding the challenging questions. If the challenge is genuine and correct, SSC will update the answer keys in their portal. After that, the board will release the final answer key. Based on the final answer key, the final result of SSC CGL will be released. 

What to check in the answer key of SSC CGL Tier 1?

Within the answer keys, the candidates can discover the correct responses for all of the questions asked in the examination. Aside from that, the answer keys also mention other details that have to be checked by all candidates. These particulars may very well be as follows:

  • The Given name of the candidate
  • The given roll Number of the Candidate
  • Number of the Paper/Tier
  • Questions and the corresponding answers
  • Name of the examination

How can a candidate calculate the final marks SSC CGL examination?

The marking scheme for each SSC CGL Tier 1 and Tier 2 is entirely different. In the case of Tier 1, for each right answer, the candidate is awarded 2 marks. In contrast, a negative marking of 1/2 is given for each wrong answer. Under the Tier 2 exam for paper 1, the negative marking is 0.25. For the remainder of the paper in Tier 2, there’s a negative marking of 0.50, whereas 2 marks are awarded for the right answers in all papers. 

Marks are calculated in the following format:

(Total number of correct responses*2) + (Number of bonus responses*2)- (Number of incorrect responses*0.5)
