DIFFERENT FLOORING OPTIONS FOR YOUR LIVING ROOM

You have many decisions to make when you build a house from scratch. How many windows do you want in a room? Do you want the door to face north or the other way around? What kind of tile do you want in the bathroom? These are all common questions that require thoughtful answers. But, the most important question that you need to decide is: what type of flooring do you want? When it comes to flooring, there are many options. Continue reading to learn more about different flooring options to select the one suited to your requirement.

Marble Flooring: Marble is undoubtedly one of the most common materials used for flooring. It is also one of the most luxurious ones. Who doesn’t appreciate a beautifully designed marble floor? Marbles have been used to build many iconic monuments and architecture all around the world. Taj Mahal is one prime example of a marble wonder. If you search for Iranian Architecture, you will be amazed to find out the beauty marble has to offer. So, if you can afford it, you should definitely go for marble flooring.

Epoxy: If you like the marble design but cannot afford the material, you may go for the next best thing. Epoxy provides a marble-like shine, but is way cheaper than marble. You will be fairly surprised to see how good epoxy looks on the floor. Big corporations and restaurants often opt for floor epoxy as the material is weather-resistant and gives off a natural shine that lasts long. You may even take it as a DIY challenge and construct an epoxy floor.

Wooden Floor: Another classic option for the floor would be a hardwood floor. The maintenance of the hardwood floor is a bit different from the marble and epoxy. While you can easily spill things on an epoxy floor without worry, you cannot do the same with a wooden floor. You need to be very careful with food and drinks when you are on a wooden floor. Be sure to install a heavy carpet on the floor to protect the hardwood floor.

Carpet Floor: though this option is becoming less and less popular in the US, it still has its appeal. If you do not mind vacuuming every single day, you may consider having your floor fully covered with carpets. You can even lay down carpets on the stairs and create a uniform look.

Tile: if you want drama on your floor, consider getting tiles of different colors. The age of minimalism is slowly fading away. The pandemic has made people realize that life is all about colors. So, people are slowly inviting exciting colors into their lives, leaving the gray and white décor behind. So, let the floor speak volumes with all the colorful tiles you choose.

The list of different flooring goes on. You can add many more items to the list, such as laminate flooring, Vinyl, Bamboo floor, Granite, and more. But, when it comes to living room décor, it is better to stick with classic and original ideas. So, take time and go through the different options on the list. You may even take a pen and paper to calculate the cost of different flooring.
